These terms cover buying and using Practical Stock Planner. Please read them before you start a trial or buy. By starting a trial, buying a subscription, or installing or using the software, you agree to them.
1. Who we are
“We”, “us” and “our” means Daniel Hampton, a sole trader in Queensland, Australia, trading under the registered business name Practical Supply Chain Planning.
- ABN: 56 757 743 802
- Email: support@practicalsupplychainplanning.com
- Phone: +61 2 8317 3359 (within Australia (02) 8317 3359). Voicemail; we call back.
- Website: practicalsupplychainplanning.com
“You” means the person or business starting a trial, buying or using the software.
2. Paddle is our reseller
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
In plain terms: when you buy, you buy from Paddle. Paddle takes the payment, charges any sales tax, VAT or GST, and sends your receipts and invoices. Your purchase is also covered by Paddle’s Buyer Terms and Refund Policy. The software, the licence and product support come from us. We are not registered for GST; any GST on your order is charged by Paddle.
3. What you’re buying
A monthly subscription to use Practical Stock Planner, a Windows desktop app (Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit) for time-phased stock planning: it projects your stock period by period and suggests what to order and when.
- Free trial: new subscriptions start with a 14-day free trial. You enter your card at checkout but aren’t charged during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends, you pay nothing. If you don’t cancel, the first monthly payment is taken when the trial ends. One trial per customer.
- Price after the trial: the normal price is US$49 per month, including any applicable tax. In Australia: A$75 per month including GST. The exact amount and the date of your first payment are shown at checkout before you confirm.
- Founding-customer price: from launch on 16 Nov 2026, for the first 20 customers or until 31 Jan 2027, whichever comes first, the price is US$29 per month, or A$45 per month including GST in Australia, for the first 12 months, then US$49 per month, or A$75 per month including GST in Australia. It is applied as a Paddle discount, code FOUNDING29 for US dollars, or FOUNDINGAU for Australian dollars. A 20-minute feedback call is requested. The founding price is not withdrawn if you can’t make the call. Giving a quote is optional. The amount shown at checkout is the one you pay. The 14-day free trial still applies.
- Guided setup: an optional one-off of US$199, or A$299 including GST in Australia. It is not part of the monthly subscription. You can add it after you start. There is no buy button for it on this website yet. The Refund Policy applies to that payment in the same way as any other payment. A Guided setup booked later still has its 14-day refund counted from that payment.
- Billing: monthly, in advance, on the same date each month, until you cancel.
- Refunds: our Refund Policy gives you 14 days to change your mind after any payment.
4. Your licence
While your trial or paid subscription is active, we give you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Practical Stock Planner:
- on one Windows PC at a time, for each subscription;
- for your own business or personal use.
Your licence key is emailed to you after checkout.
You may not:
- share your licence key, or use one licence on more than one PC at the same time;
- resell, rent or sublicense the software;
- copy, modify, reverse engineer or decompile it, except where the law allows this and it can’t be excluded;
- try to get around the licence check.
We (Daniel Hampton) own the software and all rights in it. You own your data (see section 8).
If you change PCs, email us and we’ll move your licence to the new one. A second PC needs a second subscription.
5. Activation and licence checks
- You need an internet connection to activate the software with your licence key.
- After that, the app checks your licence with our server about once a week. It keeps working for up to 14 days without a connection.
- The licence check sends a random installation ID, the app version and your licence status. It does not send your planning data. See our Privacy Policy.
6. Renewal, cancellation and failed payments
- Cancel any time. Use the link in your Paddle email, or go to paddle.net. If you cancel during the free trial, you won’t be charged and the licence ends when the trial ends. If you cancel later, you can keep using the app until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again.
- We don’t give part refunds for the unused part of a month, except under our Refund Policy or where the law requires it.
- Failed payments. If a payment fails, Paddle will retry it and email you. The app keeps working for 7 days from the first failed payment and shows a “payment required” message. If the payment still hasn’t gone through after those 7 days, the app stops until it is paid. If Paddle can’t collect the payment after its retries, the subscription is cancelled. If you have already cancelled, the cancel date wins: access ends on that date, and a failed payment does not add another 7 days.
7. Refunds and chargebacks
- You can ask for a refund within 14 days of any payment, including the first payment after your trial. See the Refund Policy.
- If a payment is refunded, the licence for that subscription ends and the subscription is cancelled.
- If you dispute a payment with your bank (a chargeback), the licence ends while the dispute is open, and for good if the dispute goes against us. Please contact us or Paddle first; it’s usually faster.
8. Your data
- Your planning files stay on your PC. We don’t receive, store or see your stock, sales, forecast, supplier or order data, except CSV files you send for Guided setup. Those files are used only for your setup, kept private, and deleted within 30 days of the call.
- You are responsible for backing up your own files.
- What we do collect (your name, email, licence and activation details) is explained in our Privacy Policy.
9. Updates and support
- While your subscription is active you get all the updates we release. We may change or improve features over time. We won’t remove the core period by period planning feature during a period you’ve already paid for.
- Support is by email or voicemail. We aim to reply within 2 business days (Brisbane time).
10. Price changes
We may change the price. If we do, Paddle or we will tell you by email at least 30 days before your next payment at the new price. If you don’t want to pay the new price, cancel before then.
11. It’s a planning tool. You make the decisions.
Practical Stock Planner gives suggestions based on the data you enter. The results are only as good as that data. You are responsible for checking the suggestions and for your own purchasing and stock decisions.
12. Your rights under consumer law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or the consumer laws of your own country.
13. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows:
- we provide the software “as is”, and we don’t promise it will be error-free or run without interruption;
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profits, lost sales or stock losses;
- our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim, or, where the law allows us to limit it this way, to supplying the software again or paying for it to be supplied again.
14. Ending the licence
- You can end it by cancelling your subscription.
- We can end or suspend your licence if you seriously breach these terms (for example, by sharing your key), if a payment is refunded or charged back, or if we stop offering the software. If we stop offering it, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice and refund any payment for a period you can no longer use.
- When your licence ends, the app will stop working. Your files stay on your PC.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters to you, we’ll email you before it applies to your next payment.
16. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. If you’re a consumer, you also keep any protections that the laws of your own country give you. Paddle’s Buyer Terms have their own governing-law section for the payment side.
